Medical Coder

Summary of the Role:

As a Medical Coder, you will be responsible for translating medical records into standardized codes to ensure accurate billing and compliance with healthcare regulations. Success in this position involves maintaining accuracy in coding, reducing errors, and ensuring timely reimbursement for healthcare services. Your role will be vital in supporting the financial and operational efficiency of our healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

• Assign accurate diagnostic, procedural, and HCPCS codes to patient records.
• Ensure coding compliance with ICD-10, CPT, and payer-specific guidelines.
• Verify the accuracy of patient records and documentation.
• Review and resolve coding discrepancies and insurance claim denials.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent).
• 2-3 years of medical coding experience are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of coding guidelines and medical terminology.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in English with excellent written communication.
