Training Period: One Month
Probationary Period: Three Months
Job Overview:
The Coding Executive will undergo a structured training program during the first month to acquire fundamental knowledge in medical coding. To successfully complete the three-month probationary period, the executive must pass a basic evaluation conducted by their supervisor. Additionally, the role requires hands-on training in medical billing software and EHR platforms such as Advance MD, Office Ally, and Charm EHR.
Training Schedule and Topics:
Week 1: ICD-10 DX Coding Guidelines
- Day 1 & Day 2: Basic ICD-10 DX Coding Guidelines
- Day 3 & Day 4: Chapter-specific ICD-10 DX Coding Guidelines
- Day 5: Test 1
Week 2: CPT Coding Guidelines
- Day 1: Evaluation/Management (E/M) and Medical Decision-Making (MDM) Guidelines
- Day 2: Vaccination and Injection Coding Guidelines
- Day 3: Infusion Coding Guidelines
- Day 4: MIPS and Annual Wellness Coding Guidelines
- Day 5: HCPCS Coding Guidelines and Use of Modifiers
Week 3: CPT Coding Guidelines (Continued)
- Day 1: Psychiatry Coding
- Day 2: Laboratory Coding
- Day 3: Radiology Coding
- Day 4: Skin Surgery, Wound Care, Debridement, and All Modifiers Podiatry
- Day 5: Grand Quiz covering two weeks of CPT Coding
Week 4: Practical Coding on Software
Hands-on training in medical billing and coding software, including Advance MD, Office Ally, and Charm EHR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate actively in the one-month training program to develop a strong foundation in medical coding.
- Acquire proficiency in using medical billing software and EHR platforms.
- Successfully complete practical training and evaluations.
- Demonstrate understanding and application of ICD-10 DX and CPT coding guidelines.
- Maintain consistent performance throughout the three-month probationary period to achieve clearance.
